On today’s episode of the On Meaning podcast, we are joined by the legendary Prof. Russ Roberts, producer and host of the EconTalk podcast. EconTalk has over 750 episodes, millions of listeners and welcomed high profile guests including Milton Friedman, Yuval Harari and Christopher Hitchens. Roberts authored several books on economics, produced two viral rap videos, and created animated video poems. He taught at Stanford University and many other well-known colleges in the USA. We are glad to have him join us in Jerusalem in his newly appointed position as President of Shalem College.
In this episode we discuss the importance of a liberal arts education in today’s world and why to consider it instead of a STEM field. We talk about Shalem college, its goals and curriculum and how its unique educational environment will not only fill their students’ “vessels with water” but aims to “turn them into springs of knowledge”.
